The privacy policy explains how we process your personal data.

1. Who the app is for

KEiNO Scanner is intended for people who have been added as members of a zone, such as the seller’s employees and volunteers. The zone owner, or another member with the right to do so, invites you to the zone in KEiNO Console. In the app you see only the zones you are a member of.

The agreement between the zone owner and Audience Engage Oy is governed by the KEiNO System Terms of Service. Under them, the terms apply to all members of the zone, and the zone owner is responsible for its members’ actions in the service. These terms of use supplement them for KEiNO Scanner.

By using the app you accept these terms of use.

2. Signing in and access

You sign in with the same KEiNO account you use in KEiNO Console: with your email address and password, your Google account or your Apple account. You cannot create a new account in the app.

Your access depends on your role in the zone. The zone owner or an admin can change your role or remove you from the zone at any time. After that you no longer see the zone in the app. Under the KEiNO System Terms of Service, the zone owner must remove a member immediately when that member should no longer have access to the system, for example when their employment ends.

3. Protecting your account

Keep your password secret and do not let anyone else use your account. Every user must have their own account. Sign out if others will use the device. In the settings you can turn on device authentication, such as Face ID, fingerprint or PIN, which is requested when you return to the app.

If you suspect that your account has been misused, change your password and tell the zone owner and us at support@keino.io straight away. We may block the account until the matter has been resolved.

4. Using the app

You may use KEiNO Scanner only for tasks of the zones you have access to. With the app you can

  • read the QR codes of tickets and bookings with the camera or enter a code manually
  • check the status of a ticket without marking it as used
  • mark a ticket as used and check in a booking
  • cancel a marking made by mistake within 15 minutes
  • limit scanning to specific events, tickets or products
  • view the scan history and, if your role allows it, the zone’s ticket sales statistics.

Mark a ticket as used only when the customer is present and is using the ticket. A ticket marked as used cannot be used again. The zone owner is responsible for how tickets are checked and how any disagreements are resolved.

With your permission, the app uses the camera only to read QR codes.

You must not try to bypass access rights, access the data of other zones, disrupt the service, or decompile, reverse engineer or modify the app’s program code.

5. Customer data

In the app you see details of tickets and bookings, such as the ticket holder’s name, the products bought, the number of participants and the time the ticket was used. You may use this data only to check tickets and bookings and to carry out the zone’s event or service.

You must not copy, photograph, store or pass on the data, or use it for other purposes such as marketing. The zone owner is an independent data controller for its customer data, and the data is processed according to its instructions and data protection law. The app does not store customer names on the device.

6. Intellectual property

KEiNO Scanner, its program code and design, and the KEiNO name and logo belong to Audience Engage Oy or its licensors. You get the right to use the app in accordance with these terms for as long as you are a member of a zone.

7. Availability and liability

We aim to keep the service running, but we cannot promise that it always works without interruptions or errors. The target availability of the service is stated in the KEiNO System Terms of Service. Checking tickets requires a network connection. The zone owner decides how tickets are checked during an outage.

We are not responsible for damage caused by circumstances beyond our control, such as power or network outages, or for indirect damage. Our liability towards the zone owner is determined by the KEiNO System Terms of Service. These limitations do not apply to damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, or to liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Changes

We may develop the app and change its features. We may also change these terms, for example when legislation or the service changes. The current terms are always on this page, and the date at the top shows when they were last changed. We will tell you about significant changes in advance.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by Finnish law. Disputes between the zone owner and Audience Engage Oy are resolved as set out in the KEiNO System Terms of Service.

10. Contact

If you have questions about these terms or the app, contact support@keino.io. For questions about your access, contact the zone owner.
